Members carry out research in different fields of Linguistics within the research institute Amsterdam Center for Language and Communication. The main areas of expertise are the following:
- Formal study of Romance languages, with emphasis on generative syntax and semantics
- First and second language acquisition, bilingual acquisition
- Historiography of Linguistics
- Language contact and multilingualism
- Diachronic study of Romance languages
