Taalkunde van de Romaanse Talen

The Chair of Romance Linguistics is responsible for the BA and MA programmes in French, Italian and Spanish Linguistics at the Faculty of Humanities. It also collaborates to varying degrees with the programmes in Catalan, Portuguese and Romanian offered in the same Faculty. It coordinates linguistic research in these areas, within the research groups of the ACLC.

New PhD candidate at the Chair of Romance Linguistics

Hadil Karawani, who got her MA from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem this year, has been appointed on September 1st 2008 as a PhD candidate at the Chair of Romance Linguistics. She will be working jointly at the ACLC and the ILLC under the supervision of prof. dr. Josep Quer and prof. dr. Frank Veltman. The title of her project is ‘Mood for Modality: A Crosslinguistic Study of Mood as Means for Expressing Counterfactuality’.
