PhD defence ceremony

Floral volatiles emitted by the Petunia genus attract pollinators. Variation in the composition of these volatiles and the timing of the emissions is linked to pollinator preferences. The aim of Maaike Boersma's research is to determine the genetic basis of differences in the biosynthesis and emission of these volatiles in two wild Petunia species.

This is a joint PhD research project with Nur Fariza M. Shaipulah.
