Therapeutic targeting of neuroinflammation in epilepsy

Medicine

PhD defence ceremony

There is a clinical need for new drugs that can control seizures in people with pharmaco-resistant epilepsy. Next-generation therapies need to target the mechanisms intimately involved in making the brain susceptible to spontaneous seizures. Valentina Iori contributes to this aim by exploring novel therapeutic interventions that target neuroinflammation in a specific pathway.
