Studying compact binary star systems

14Dec2017 12:00 - 13:00

PhD defence ceremony

Compact binaries are binary star systems in which a white dwarf star, a neutron star or a black hole accretes from a low-mass companion star. Such systems allow us to study a wide variety of astrophysical phenomena, including the end state of stellar evolution and mass accretion. Liliana Rivera Sandoval carries out multi-wavelength studies into compact binaries.
