Riboreulation in meningococcal disease

Medicine

PhD defence ceremony

Robert Huis in ’t Veld carries out research into Nesseira meningitidis, a bacterium often referred to as meningococcus. He studies the regulatory mechanisms that allow N. meningitidis to thrive in human hosts. He specifically focuses on the post-transcriptional regulation of RNA molecules, a process known as riboregulation, and the role it plays in metabolism and pathogenesis.
