Welcome to the ASCA Cities Project

The ASCA Cities Project is a collaborative research initiative based at the Amsterdam School for Cultural Analysis at the University of Amsterdam. The project brings together a diverse group of scholars who are interested in the comparative, interdisciplinary analysis of cities. Focusing in particular on the cultural dimensions of cities, the project has three central objectives:
- It aims to be a focal point and catalyst for humanities research in the field of urban studies.
- It aims to develop new theoretical frameworks and research methodologies for urban analysis.
- It aims to deepen our understanding of cities by working across historical, geographic, and cultural boundaries.
Please use the links at the top of this page for more information about the project's activities, including conferences, seminars, and publications.
