New research suggests it is feasible that in the second and third century AD, the inhabitants of Forum Hadriani , the Civitas capital of the Cananefates, consumed food derived from the direct vicinity of the city.

Odyssee project Tiel around the year 1000

After the disappearance of the Carolingian exchange network in the middle of the 9th century several towns emerge as successors to the emporium Dorestad. The new towns are Deventer and Tiel, a small town on the junction of the rivers Waal and Linge in the central Netherlands. Tiel was an important place form the 10th to the 12th century, when the imperial tollgate was moved.

Verreweg het grootste urnenveld van Nederland en een van de grootste van Noordwest-Europa ligt bij Weert, op het heide- en stuifzandterrein van de Boshoverheide. Ondanks zijn status en de vijftien opgravingen die er hebben plaatsgevonden, is het nooit tot een allesomvattende inventarisatie en synthese gekomen.
