Prof. dr. E.J. Sluijter: Artistic Exchange Project (NWO)

The NWO-Open competition programme: ‘Cultural transmission and artistic exchanges in the Low Countries, 1572-1672. Mobility of artists, works of art and artistic knowledge’ (Sluijter, in collaboration with dr. Filip Vermeylen, EUR and dr. Karolien de Clippel (UU) will run until September 2013.

Prof. dr. H.F.K. van Nierop: Domination or Collaboration (NWO)

Henk van Nierop’s NWO project ‘Domination or Collaboration: The Development of Power Relations between Ethnic Groups in the Seventeenth Century Plantation Colony Suriname’ has started on October 1 2010 and will run until 2014.

The Cultural Industry of Amsterdam in the Golden Age (KNAW)

Each year ten talented master students are selected from various fields like history, art history and Dutch literature of the Golden Age.

Dr. M.C. 't Hart: Visiting Professor

Due to her NWO-grant for her research: The Dutch Wars of Independence, c. 1560-1650 Marjolein ’t Hart enjoyed a sabbatical leave from February 2010 to January 31, 2011. She was Visiting Professor at Columbia University, New York (Queen Wilhelmina Chair).

Dr. M. van Gelder: The Rebel Ambassador (VENI project)

Maartje van Gelder’s VENI project (NWO) ‘A transnational perspective on informal diplomacy in early seventeenth-century Venice’ has started 2011 and will run until December 2014.
